Our Mission
For many families, the cost of sports equipment can make participating in youth athletics difficult. The Gear Up! program helps remove that barrier by collecting donated sports equipment and redistributing it to young athletes through the Sports 4 the Kids warehouse.
From cleats and gloves to balls and protective gear, donated equipment gets a second life helping kids participate in the sports they love.
How Gear Up Works
Sports 4 the Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing underserved children across Central Florida the opportunity to participate in youth sports programs. Through scholarships, equipment donations, and community partnerships, we help remove the financial barriers that prevent many families from enrolling their children in athletics.
We believe every child deserves the chance to play, compete, and grow through sports. Participation in athletics builds confidence, encourages healthy lifestyles, and teaches valuable life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and leadership
Types of Equipment Available
Gear Up donations include equipment for a wide variety of sports. Availability may vary based on donations received.
Items may include:
- Cleats and athletic shoes
- Balls and training equipment
- Protective gear
- Bats, gloves, sticks, and sport-specific equipment
- Athletic apparel and uniforms
- Bikes and recreational gear
Warehouse Visits
Warehouse visits are by appointment only so volunteers can be present to assist athletes and families.
Appointments are typically available on:
Mondays and Thursdays
Additional times may be available by appointment depending on volunteer availability.
Donate Sports Equipment
Community donations keep the Gear Up program running. Individuals, teams, and school clubs regularly organize equipment drives that help stock the warehouse with gear for young athletes.
