While scholarships help remove financial barriers to participation, the Goals 4 the Kids program focuses on helping athletes build the habits and skills needed to succeed both on and off the field.
What Athletes Will Learn
The Goals 4 the Kids program focuses on several important areas that help young athletes build healthy habits and develop skills that extend beyond sports.
Exercise
Athletes learn proper conditioning techniques and warm-up routines that help prevent injuries and improve athletic performance. The program also emphasizes balancing workouts with rest, recovery, and stretching while encouraging athletes to stay active throughout the year, even during the off-season.
Nutrition
Athletes learn practical ways to fuel their bodies with healthy foods that support energy and performance. The program highlights affordable nutrition options and encourages athletes to develop habits that support both athletic performance and long-term health.
Education
Academic success plays an important role in the program. Athletes learn how to build strong study habits, balance schoolwork with sports commitments, and develop time management and organization skills that help them succeed in the classroom.
Mental Health
The program helps athletes build focus, resilience, and confidence. Participants learn how to handle challenges and setbacks, maintain a positive mindset, and recognize when it is important to ask for support.
Sportsmanship
Athletes are encouraged to lead by example on and off the field. The program reinforces the importance of respecting coaches, teammates, and officials while promoting teamwork, encouragement, and pride in representing their team.
